Communication: Who's Listening? May 20, 2008 - The B.C. Self Advocacy Foundation Presents a skills development opportunity for people supporting individuals with developmental disabilities. Featuring international expert and trainer Dave Hingsburger, the session will have participants examine the role that power plays in their interaction with those with disabilities and will give each participant an opportunity to practice new ways to understand, listen and relate to people with intellectual disabilities. National Association for the Dually Diagnosed, Online Training Initiative - The National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD) and Essential Learning (EL) are pleased to announce an online training initiative where individuals can take courses and earn continuing education credits over the Internet! Effective Counselling of Persons with High Functioning Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. Autism Today offers this new online presentation by Nathan Ory, psychologist and author. AUCC Scholarship Program for Students with Disabilities - The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada is pleased to announce this new scholarship programme. The objective of the program is to encourage Canadian students with disabilities interested in obtaining a first university degree, to pursue university studies. Up to ten (10) scholarships valued at $5,000 CDN will be awarded. 'Working Matters' - CASE's 2008 Conference - The Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE) will be co-hosting the 2008 'Working Matters' Conference, in partnership with BCACL. The conference will take place November 13 - 14, 2008 at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, BC.
