On November 16 and 17, 2009, BCACL and the Canadian Association for Community Living hosted "From Relief Measures to Reduction Strategies," a forum on poverty and people with developmental disabilities. Participants included people with developmental disabilities, family members, decision makers and community partners.
The event ended with a resounding call for a poverty reduction strategy in B.C. that would specifically address the profound poverty faced by people with intellectual disabilities.
