There were many celebrations and activities in communities across the province during Community Living Month as a way to reflect on the positive value of inclusion, at school, at work and in the community.

There were 32 communities across the province that developed and hosted Community Living Month events, with a total of 74 activities and events. Here are a few pictures from some events.

Richmond Society for Community Living held an information fair and displayed "From the Inside/Out" exhibit on October 13-14, 2007 at Richmond Cenre Mall to increase community awareness about people with developmental disabilities.

On October 16th, Minister Christensen recognized Community Living Month in the Legislature. 16 people from Victoria were at the Legislature and were able to greet Minister Christensen. As a Community Living Month activity, the distribution of the "I believe” pins to MLAs in the Legislature raised awareness about inclusive workplaces.

Mainstream Association for Proactive Community Living hosted Community Living Colour, the Third Annual Art Show for BC artists with developmental disabilities.

The Kulusic family organized a fundraising event in Richmond on October 19, 2007 to provide a bursary for a Cambie highschool student to pursue a career in community development.

MSA Society for Community Living and their community partners organized a Community Living Dance & BBQ in Abbotsford on October 24, 2007.

The Most Inclusive Employer Award was presented to Home Depot during the Community Living Dance & BBQ held in Abotsford on October 24, 2007.
