Networks are formed around a person who is isolated or/and lonely. Once formed, a network is a group of 3 or 4 friends who hang out one on one with the person at the center of the Network. Network friends may go to movies, out for dinner, to a concert, hang out at home… its all about the friendship.
This is an opportunity to have support designed for your personal needs. It may include coaching around budgeting, grocery shopping, mail and bill paying, money management, organization. The specifics are designed to meet the requirements you need to live successfully and independently in the community.
This program matches a person 18 years or older with a disability, to a current UVIC student. It is an opportunity for friendship to develop and new experiences to be explored.
Three days per week, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Available in January.

The goal of the personal support program is to increase independence in the community, to increase community connections, and community safety for a person with a disability. This program will address personal goals as determined by the individual and family. A personal coach will provide intentional teaching and support to enable the individual to achieve his goals. read and print the details

Family meetings provide opportunities for parents/caregivers of families with networks to get together. The focus is the support we get and give to each other by exchanging ideas and experiences and also the knowledge gained from invited speakers. Meetings are held approximately every three months.
