Community Living



Gilley Avenue Day Program: Provides support, service planning and individual service for 2 residents of the home and 2 non-residents.

Horizons Day Program: Provides participants with daily living and life skills support, training, volunteer, recreation and social opportunities to increase skills and promote community participation.

Mobile Work Crew: Provides individuals with an opportunity for meaningful employment in community based settings.

Residential Programs: (Gilley Avenue Residence & Day Program, Hyde Creek Duplex, and Mundy Street Residence) 24 hour staff assists individuals to achieve their optimal development and maximize their potential for greater independence in community, relationships, health, and life.

Supported Employment:

Provide effective workers to employers while assisting people with developmental disabilities to gain competitive employment.

Living Well Programs



Adopt-a-Family at Christmas: Assists low income families living in New Westminster with the financial challenges of Christmas.

Camping Bureau: Offers financial assistance with registration fees for summer camps to low income families living in New Westminster.

Container Gardens: "The Biggest Little Garden in Town,ヤ program provides the means for low income New Westminster residents living in apartments or townhouses to have access to home grown fresh vegetables, provided with plants, soil and containers.

Cooking Club: Learn how to cook nutritious, economical meals, to meet new friends and to have fun.

Kidsport Fund: Offers the opportunity for children to participate in the sport of their choice, in their own community, by providing grants to cover the registration fees of a season of organized sport.

Parks and Recreation Subsidies: Gives any resident of New Westminster living with a low income, 50% off the registration fees for many of the programs offered in the Active Living Guide.

Seniors Link Up: Trained to visit and connect with isolated seniors living in New Westminster

Tax Return Drop-Off Service: Community Volunteer Income Tax program offered by Revenue Canada will complete your income tax and benefit returns if you are unable to pay for assistance.

Emergency Shelter:  Shelter can accomodate families in a supportive stable environment 

Counselling

Children who witness abuse: 

Provides psycho-educational counselling to children who have been affected by domestic violence

Perspectives Adult Addictions: A staff of professionally trained counselors help people learn about and recover from substance abuse and dependency.

Perspectives Youth & Family Outreach: Provides outreach counseling, referral and support services to children, adolescents and their families who are either experience substance misuse difficulties or are affected by another person's substance misuse.

First Step Program (CAP): Designed to assist participants with identified needs which include life skills, pre-employment kills and volunteer experience.

Mental Health Services



Calcutt Place: Designed for clients who wish to live with more autonomy but require some limited support to be successful

Fraserdale: Provides services and support for each individual to enable them to meet their individual housing goals.

Ibsen House: Suite of apartments available to persons with mental illness who need help in order to live successfully on their own.

Summit House: Provides accommodation for 5 adults (19-65 years of age) with mental illness who wish to live in a more independent living arrangement but still require a support system to be successful.

Peterson Place:  Suite of apartments available to persons with mental illness who need support living with co-occurring disorders

Employment Service

Employment Resource Centre:  Provides job search services; employment counsellors refer individuals to career and employment programs; individuals can access a fully equipped resource centre

Housing



Hunter Heights and non market rental housing for low income individuals and families

Family Emergency Shelter:  Short term stay shelter for families and women
