The 28th Annual Pacific Rim International Conference on Disability & Diversity (Pac Rim) will bring together a diverse international gathering of Specialized Professionals, Community Leaders, Self-Advocates and Distinguished Educators representing all disability areas to Honolulu, Hawaii on March 26-27, 2012. The goal of the conference is to provide action plans, aimed to meet human and social needs within a globalized world. Participants at the conference will explore global challenges, personal experiences and research advancements; all devoted to enabling humanity into “living to our complete potential”.
Support and actively participate in encouraging voices from diverse perspectives to formulate discussion and change within three of Pac Rim’s themed topics; the ‘Foundation’ topics on current CDS initiatives, ‘Exploration’ topics based on community initiatives; and ‘Innovation’ topics based on global challenges.
This event is hosted by the Center on Disability Studies (CDS), a University of Hawaii Board of Regents recognized center of programs focused on the development and conduct of interdisciplinary education/training, research/demonstration and evaluation, through university and community service.
