Background: In December 2009, the Province of B.C. negotiated a proposed settlement in a class action brought by former residents of Woodlands institution. Former residents of Woodlands will be able apply for compensation for the psychological, physical and sexual abuse they suffered while at the institution.
Over the next two months, Klein Lyons (the law firm representing former Woodlands residents) will be hosting meetings in communities across the lower mainland to provide an opportunity for all past residents, their family and friends and their care providers to understand the settlement and the process of filing a claim.
At the meetings you will learn about the Class Action lawsuit, the settlement, the options for legal representation, and the process for filing a claim.

Details can also be found on the Klein Lyons website.
