Paul Pallan is currently working as a private consultant in the areas of health care, children's services and education. Prior to leaving government in 2003, he served in a number of senior positions, including, most recently, as Children's Commissioner for BC from 1999-2003. Before that he was an Assistant Deputy Minister of Education, of Cabinet, and of Health.
While Children's Commissioner, he produced a special report on children and youth with disabilities. In addition, while Assistant Deputy Minister of Education, he chaired a provincial committee which reviewed, revised and updated the education policies related to special education in our public school system.
He has an undergraduate degree in Math and Physics and a post graduate degree in Health Administration. Paul has two grown sons and two grandchildren, and lives in Victoria with his partner, Elka, a professional artist.
