Jo-Anne's experience on BCACL’s Self Advocacy Caucus, the BC Self Advocacy Foundation and he BC People First Board has taught her a lot about leadership. It has also provided her with a good link to what is happening with self advocates all around BC.
Jo-Anne and her husband Mike recently started a People First Group and are very active in the community of Cranbrook. They are blessed with two teenage daughters, Sylvia and Crystal. Jo-Anne works full-time at Superstore, a good place to work.
Jo-Anne's goal is to help make life easier for self advocates. She works on issues such as getting jobs for people with disabilities and helping to get more money for self advocates, as she believes that too many people with disabilities are poor.
