Annette Delaplace

Annette’s family became involved with Community Living when her daughter Emily was born with multiple challenges .Through being involved with Richmond Society for Community Living’s (RSCL) Infant Development and Supported Child Development programs they experienced a world of caring and learning which has created the framework for a full and happy life for Emily.

Through her family’s involvement with RSCL, Annette had the opportunity to become a member of the RSCL Board of Directors and served as President for four years. She was elected to the BCACL Board in 2007. Currently, she chairs the Supports to Children and Families Committee at BCACL and is on the Board of Directors, Inclusive Education and Medical Issues Committees at RSCL. Being a part of these organizations and their work towards creating ever more inclusive communities is an honour for Annette and one way in which she and her family feels they can say thank you for the experiences their family has had.

With a degree in education and twenty years administrative experience as the co-owner of a manufacturing business in Richmond, Annette is looking forward to continue working on inclusive education issues and ensuring that resources are readily available and accessible for all individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
